To keep everything in place I used command strips on the bottoms of the holder and of the bins so it sticks to the bottom of the drawer and doesn’t shift around.Īnd if your curious about my under counter storage, there really isn’t a lot going on with it because like I said my kids are so young they don’t need much. But, it works great in the bathroom as well. To organize it all I bought this holder that you typically see being used in the kitchen for knives and forks. It is also where I keep little things for our guests like toothpaste, deodorant, etc. The top drawer in the bathroom is where I am putting the girls toothbrushes and toothpastes. The girls know exactly where their hair ties and hair brushes go when we are done using them. I found these little clear bins at the Container Store, similar to the link, and it works perfectly. The colors matched our bathroom great so it looks more like a decorative piece then something that holds bows.Īll of the girls other hair ties and clips I keep in a drawer. I found this sign on an Etsy shop (I’m all about supporting small businesses) and it works perfectly for them. They were of course going to share the bows so putting them in their rooms didn’t seem reasonable either. But, now that I am doing two little girls hair every day I had to figure out a different way. When it was just Madelyn I had all of that stuff in one basket and it didn’t matter much. My other organizational issue that I had to resolve in the kids bathroom was bows, hair ties and clips.
It saves me so much time than having to fold the towels and hang them up every time they use them. And the third hook we use for guests when they come. They are chalkboard too so I can write the girls names on it so we know who’s towel is who’s. So instead of putting one up, which I knew the girls would never use, at least not anytime soon, I put up hooks that I found at Anthropologie.
What wasn’t there was any kind of towel bar. The previous owners had renovated the bathroom and they did a great job so when we bought the house there wasn’t much for us to do but put a fresh coat of paint up and we even used the same color that was originally there. It needed to function for the girls, but it also needed to be a semi-adult space as well (my favorite kind of space). For us, the kids bathroom is also the bathroom for guests when we have them so I didn’t want to go completely kid crazy in there. In the meantime though, the kids bathroom is still my domain and I have decorative and organizational jurisdiction over it all (ba hahaha). All four of us shared one bathroom! So, if you are in the category of parents with older kids I welcome any and all advice for organizing a teenage bathroom. Its when my girls are 12 and 14 when I am going to have some serious issues! I am the oldest of 4 kids in my family and I have two sisters. Organizing kids bathrooms when they are 4 and 2 is probably going to be my easiest job.
